Journey Into Lovingkindness:
a Yin Yoga & Meditation Workshop

In the hardcore bustle of modern day life, Lovingkindness and compassion can feel like foreign territory, but this sacred land is your heart’s home.  In the serene stillness of the Yin Yoga poses, students will be led through a beautiful journey into the ancient Lovingkindness (Metta Bhavana) meditation practice, closing out the workshop with a period of guided Deep Relaxation to integrate the energy of compassion, connection, and wellbeing into every part of body, mind, and spirit. Navigating the challenges in life can sometimes leave us depleted and disconnected from our source – this is a journey of remembering, honoring the connection we all share.

Energetic Harmony – a Whole Body Daoist Detox:
a Yin Yoga & Meditation Workshop

Give your body a Daoist Detox!  In Daoism, it is believed there are subtle energy channels called meridians running through the deep dense connective tissues of the body which act as conduits carrying Qi, your vital life force, to nourish and maintain the Organ system.  When there are blockages, Qi flow is disrupted and physical as well as emotional disharmonies can result. This workshop will bring restorative Yin acupressure to all major meridians of the body to keep you happy and healthy and bring energetic harmony to all layers of your being.

YINtro: an Introduction to Yin & Meditation for 200hr programs

The intention of this workshop is to introduce yoga teachers-in-training to the powerful and transformative Yin Yoga & Meditation practice as a complement to yang styles of yoga such as Vinyasa and Hatha, which focus predominantly on the muscles.  Because the Yin practice targets the important deep connective tissues to improve mobility and hydration of our joints, it’s the perfect counterbalance to yang yoga…as well as our yang-oriented modern way of living. Yin truly is the “Other Half” of our practice.  Students will receive an overview of how of these two practices work together including their origins, guiding principles, and physical, energetic, and emotional/mental benefits. Students will be led through a seated mindfulness meditation practice, followed by a 60min Yin Yoga practice so that in addition to hearing about it, students will have the chance to feel the effects of these practices for themselves in their bodies. There will be opportunity for Q & A and supplemental handouts are provided.  No experience necessary, and everyone is welcome!

Metta (Lovingkindness) Meditation 101:
a Meditation Workshop

The Metta Bhavana (Lovingkindness) practice is a profound and powerful heart-awakening meditation practice of offering unconditional friendliness to ourselves and others.  Using ancient techniques passed down from the Buddha himself, in Lovingkindness meditation we honor our authentic connection with all beings and our common desire for happiness.

We generate compassion for ourselves, which very naturally becomes a beautiful gift we offer to others.  We honor the inherent goodness of our own hearts, and become more able to recognize and celebrate the goodness of others. Students learn the foundations of this beautiful, profound practice and concrete ways to bring it into each of their days. This workshop includes meditation instruction, guided meditation practice, and Q&A and no experience is necessary.

Meditation 101:
a Meditation Workshop

Meditation has been practiced for thousands of years as a way to reduce anxiety and live with a greater sense of tranquility and wholeness. Anyone can learn to do this simple, powerful practice and receive its many benefits — here’s a chance to learn how to get started! Meditation has been scientifically proven to reduce stress in the body, lower blood pressure, and prevent the effects of aging in the brain. This transformative practice helps us to live with more compassion in our hearts and more clarity in our mind, and to create and enjoy more harmonious relationships.

In this workshop, you will learn what meditation is…and isn’t; how it benefits you physically, mentally, and emotionally; how to build a comfortable posture; simple meditations you can do anywhere; ways to create a sustainable home meditation practice; and how to avoid common pitfalls and cultivate compassion for yourself.  Time is included for group sharing and Q&A.

Transformation & Manifestation
Yoga Nidra Workshop

In Yoga Nidra, students will be guided deep into meditation using ancient, systematic yogic relaxation techniques that help brain waves slow down, moving from Beta waves to Alpha brain waves, bringing about a state of extreme relaxation. In this transformational and highly-receptive and completely effortless state of being between wakefulness and deep sleep, it is possible to experience a profound release of tension and stress on all levels of being. Along this guided meditative journey, students can awaken to unconscious barriers such as unhelpful habits, long-held fears, self limiting thoughts, and negative emotions and are empowered to release these deep obstacles and energy blockages that can prevent them from realizing their highest potential and manifesting the life they want aligned with their most heart-felt intentions.

This workshop is offered with a brief Yin practice and pranayama (directed breathwork) to help prepare body, heart, and mind for the deeper work of the Yoga Nidra practice. Yoga Nidra is performed in the position of Savasana, lying on the back with cushions and blankets for support and relaxation.

Yin Yoga & Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Training: Foundations

We offer 24hr and 32hr enriched Yin Yoga & Meditation Teacher Intensives throughout North America.  Providing a strong foundation in both Yin Yoga and Mindfulness Meditation, these intensives are excellent for current yoga teachers wanting to offer their students a complete practice or practitioners simply wanting to deepen their understanding of the practices.

Yin Yoga & Meditation Teacher Training: Foundations covers the fundamentals of Yin Yoga, Yin pose breakdowns and safety, courteous sequencing, Pranayama and energy movement, and the foundations of Applied Mindfulness practices. Students are also given the opportunity to practice teach, with plenty of time for Q&A throughout the weekend.  Participants eligible for CE credits from Yoga Alliance.
