Yoga Nidra, “the sleep of the Yogi” is a state of deep relaxation with inner awareness that can help you experience a profound release of tension and stress and help you connect with the deep sense of peace that comes from pure and complete relaxation. It is an effortless state of being experienced as a state of pure joy and bliss. Joy is your blueprint and your birthright!

Studies show that about 80% of all illnesses stem from stress.  On the most basic level, regular practice of Yoga Nidra is a de-stress program, that can help you experience a profound release of tension, rejuvenate you, refresh you, and help enhance your overall sense of well-being. After a session of Yoga Nidra, you may feel as clear and refreshed as though you’ve enjoyed 3-4hrs of deep restful sleep.

In Yoga Nidra, you will be guided deep into meditation using ancient, systematic relaxation techniques that help brain waves slow down, bringing about a state of extreme relaxation- physically, energetically, and mentally/emotionally.

Based in the Tantric technique of “nyasa,” this practice brings together the Indian Yogic methods of alert and relaxed concentration, compassionate observation, and guided visualization to help withdraw the senses from the external world and move the awareness into the deeper layers of the mind.

We’re empowered to actualize our most heart-felt intentions.  In Sanskrit there is a word for our most heart-felt intentions – Sankalpa.  Sankalpa is a resolve that is a reflection of your highest truth, a seed you can create and then plant in the fertile soil of your mind during the practice of Yoga Nidra.

In this class, you will be guided on a meditative journey using ancient, systematic relaxation techniques including body awareness, imagery, and visualization. This class will be offered with a short period of asana (floor postures) and pranayama (directed breathwork) to help prepare body, heart, and mind for the deeper work of the Yoga Nidra practice.
